Join Us as a Mentor – Help Shape Future-Ready Youth
At Sunrise Foundation, we invite passionate professionals to become mentors and help us nurture the next generation of learners, high school (9-12) and college students from all backgrounds.

As a mentor, your weekly 1-hour guidance can ignite curiosity, build confidence, and equip students with the holistic skills needed for the AI age. You’ll support their journey in areas like communication, digital literacy, and problem-solving.

We’ll support you with structured training, session guides, mentor webinars, and monthly collaboration circles with fellow mentors. Your experience and empathy can make a lasting impact—while we ensure you're never doing it alone. Let’s build a better future, one conversation at a time.

 Who Are the Ideal Mentors?
We’re looking for professionals from diverse backgrounds—technology, business, education, healthcare, design, social work, and more—who believe in giving back and making a difference. Ideal mentors are lifelong learners with a curious mindset, open to sharing their experiences while learning from the next generation. How the Program Works
The Sunrise Foundation mentoring program is designed to develop well-rounded, future-ready students through consistent, supportive guidance from volunteer mentors. Each team of students is paired with a mentor who spends just 1 hour per week guiding them through structured sessions focused on communication, critical thinking, self-awareness, digital literacy, and career exploration. These sessions are flexible and personalized, ensuring that students get the encouragement and exposure they need to grow.

To foster a supportive ecosystem, we actively engage parents, teachers, and the broader community through regular events and webinars.

  • Parent-Teacher Webinars to align on student growth goals and create a shared support system.

  • Student Showcases and Open Days where families and mentors witness student progress.

  • Workshops for Teachers on holistic education and mentoring techniques.

  • Community Conversations on topics like AI readiness, digital safety, and career awareness.

These events create a circle of trust and shared purpose, ensuring that every student is surrounded by a network committed to their success. Together, we build a bridge between school, home, and the future.

Mentor FAQ – Sunrise Foundation

1. What is the time commitment expected from a mentor?

We ask for just 1 hour per week for mentoring students, and an additional 1 hour per month for collaborative mentor meetings. This makes it easy for professionals to contribute meaningfully without a heavy time burden.

2. What does a mentor do in the program?

Mentors guide students through their learning journey by sharing insights, giving feedback on assignments or projects, helping them set goals, and offering encouragement. You’ll play a key role in nurturing future-ready skills for the AI age.

3. Do I need to have teaching experience to become a mentor?

Not at all. What matters most is your willingness to listen, guide, and share your professional experience. We provide support and structure so you can focus on engaging meaningfully with your team (6-9 students).

4. What kind of students will I be mentoring?

You'll mentor students from all backgrounds who are eager to learn life skills, communication, critical thinking, and digital fluency. These students are motivated but may need encouragement and exposure to role models like you. Current focus is with high school students (9-12) and college students who would benefit career related topics and coaching.

5. What kind of support or materials will I receive as a mentor?

You’ll receive 9 week session guides, topic prompts, suggested activities, and mentoring tips to make your sessions impactful. We also provide optional training and a community of fellow mentors to share ideas and learn from.

6. Can I choose how I mentor – video call, phone, or chat?

Yes. We encourage flexibility in how you connect with your mentee(s). Most mentors use video calls (Zoom or Google Meet), but phone or chat can be alternatives based on internet access and comfort level.

7. How can I contribute beyond weekly mentoring?

We value your voice! You can help by:

  • Providing feedback to improve the curriculum and sessions
  • Recommending new mentors or students
  • Supporting or co-leading occasional mentor collaboration sessions and webinars

8. What topics or skills will students be learning?

The program focuses on holistic skill development including:

  • Communication and self-confidence (debates and discussions format)
  • Digital and AI literacy
  • Problem solving and collaboration
  • Career awareness and personal growth
  • Financial literacy & living within the means
  • Finding a purpose and leading a happier life.

9. How do I sign up and what happens next?

You can sign up directly on our website. After that, you’ll receive a brief orientation, be matched with a student teams and secondary mentor, and we’ll provide the first week’s mentoring guide. You’re never alone – we’re here to support you at every step.
